Dubai, Emirates Airline headlined the stunning opening flypast at the Dubai Airshow 2023, symbolizing the UAE's aviation prowess. The iconic Emirates A380, the world's largest commercial passenger aircraft, led the commercial aerial formation, followed by a series of aircraft from UAE's leading airlines and the national air display team, Al Fursan.

According to Emirates, the aerial formation included the Emirates A380 and Boeing 777, both adorned with the airline's new signature livery, followed by aircraft from Etihad Airways, Air Arabia, and flydubai. The Emirates A380 flew at an altitude of just 100 meters, with the Boeing 777 following at 160 meters, creating a mesmerizing spectacle over the Dubai World Central (DWC) runway. The flypast also featured Al Fursan's V formation and their signature tricolor smoke trails.

The aerial display, which involved a fleet of military aircraft and helicopters, was the result of months of meticulous planning and coordination between various stakeholders in the aviation ecosystem. This included teams from Emirates and other UAE carriers, the UAE Ministry of Defence, military personnel, pilots, flight operation managers, air traffic controllers, and aviation authorities. The coordination focused on air traffic patterns, overflown areas, weather, and wind conditions, ensuring a seamless and impressive aerial feat at the airshow.
