UAE and Pakistan Celebrate Strong Bilateral Ties at National Day Event

KARACHI: Consul General of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Bakheet Ateeq Al Rumeithi emphasized the enduring friendship between the UAE and Pakistan at an event celebrating the 53rd National Day of the UAE, organized by the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI). The event underscored the strong bilateral ties and mutual respect shared by the two nations.

According to Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Al Rumeithi praised the deep-rooted connection between the UAE and Pakistan, highlighting the collaboration that has contributed significantly to the UAE's progress over the past 53 years. He acknowledged the role of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in the development of Emirates Airlines and noted that Pakistanis continue to be an integral part of the UAE's community.

The event, attended by prominent figures such as Chairman Businessmen Group (BMG) Zubair Motiwala and KCCI President Muhammad Jawed Bilwani, celebrated the UAE's National Day, referred to as Eid ul Ittihad, marking the unity of the Emirati states. Al Rumeithi expressed gratitude towards the business community of Karachi and the Sindh government for their enthusiastic participation in the celebrations.

Highlighting the UAE's commitment to facilitating business relations, Al Rumeithi stated that expediting visa issuance for the business community is a top priority for the UAE Consulate. He encouraged Karachi's business community to seek assistance from the consulate whenever needed.

Chairman BMG Zubair Motiwala noted the UAE's significant Pakistani expatriate community, which numbers around 2 million, and their vital role in supporting Pakistan's economy through remittances. Motiwala called for increased Pakistan-UAE exports and emphasized the potential for collaboration in sectors like information technology and agriculture to enhance economic ties.

Vice Chairman BMG Anjum Nisar and President KCCI Jawed Bilwani also spoke at the event, highlighting the UAE's position as Pakistan's third-largest trading partner and the long-standing relationship between the two countries founded on shared values and economic cooperation. Bilwani acknowledged the UAE's significant investments in Pakistan, which have greatly contributed to the country's economic development.
