Zindigi, MyTM, and Cashin Launch Cashless Hajj Payment System for Pakistani Pilgrims

Islamabad, Zindigi, in partnership with JS Bank, MyTM, and Cashin (KSA), has announced a new initiative to digitize the pilgrimage experience for Pakistani citizens during Hajj and Umrah. This collaborative effort aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, aiming to transform the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage into a cashless experience, significantly reducing fees and taxes while enhancing convenience for pilgrims.

According to JS Bank Limited, the initiative was unveiled at the LEAP conference this year. It introduces a streamlined payment system for Pakistani pilgrims, allowing them to use Zindigi Debit cards for all transactions related to Hajj and Umrah, including visa fees, accommodation, and transportation. This innovative payment system is expected to be pilot-tested during Hajj 2024, setting a new precedent for future advancements in pilgrimage services.

Basir Shamsie, President and CEO of JS Bank, remarked on the partnership, noting that it represents a significant step in facilitating the sacred rituals and aligns with both Pakistan's commitment to financial inclusion and Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. Noman Azhar, Chief Officer at Zindigi, emphasized the importance of this initiative in providing simple yet impactful financial services for the estimated 4 million people from Pakistan who embark on the Hajj and Umrah journey each year.

Sheikh Jawad Mahmood, CEO of MYTM LLC in Saudi Arabia, described the new partnership with JS Bank and Cashin as a significant milestone in financial technology, with the introduction of the Sullis Product aimed at serving the 'Guests of Allah.' This product is set to offer a seamless banking experience for Pakistani pilgrims, with a focus on security, advantageous currency exchange rates, and tax-free transactions.

Omar Al-Rammah, CEO of Cashin Saudi Arabia, highlighted that this partnership is part of the broader journey towards a cashless future in Saudi Arabia and contributes to the realization of Vision 2030. The signing ceremony for this collaborative effort was attended by key stakeholders from both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, demonstrating a collective commitment to enhancing the Hajj experience through technology.

The collaboration also strengthens the economic and technological ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, showcasing a shared vision for innovation and societal advancement in the context of religious pilgrimage.
