CDA Accelerates Construction of Key Underpasses in Islamabad

Islamabad, The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has been instructed to expedite construction on critical underpass projects at Serena Chowk and Srinagar Highway to enhance urban mobility in Islamabad. This directive comes from high-level discussions involving CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa, Interior Minister Mohsin Ali Naqvi, and officials from the National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK).

According to Zameen.Com, the projects include the development of one underpass at Serena Chowk and another along the Srinagar Highway, both aimed at facilitating smoother traffic flow and increasing convenience for the city’s residents. During a recent review, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the importance of maximizing the underpass height and tasked Chairman Randhawa and the Islamabad Chief Commissioner with closely overseeing the projects to ensure they are completed on schedule.

Furthermore, Chairman Randhawa has set a firm deadline of June 15 for the completion of the Park Road project. He stressed the need for stringent safety measures and continuous efforts to maintain progress. In addition to these infrastructure developments, Randhawa directed the timely completion of bus depots and approved extended subsidies for the Islamabad Bus Service project, underscoring the CDA’s commitment to improving public transportation facilities in the capital.
