Islamabad: Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong recently announced that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has brought USD 25.4 billion in direct investment to Pakistan.
According to Zameen.Com, the Corridor has successfully generated 236,000 jobs, constructed 510 km of highways, produced over 8,000 megawatts of electricity, and established 886 km of transmission networks. These investments are significant for Pakistan's infrastructure and energy development, benefiting its economy and population.
The Ambassador shared these figures during a visit to NUML University, where he addressed students and reflected on his educational journey, encouraging them to work hard and pursue knowledge. Ambassador Jiang also expressed his admiration for Pakistan's strategic position in Asia, its young population, and its abundant resources, highlighting the country's production of commodities such as cotton, mangoes, and wheat.
Additionally, he noted the recent economic stabilization efforts by Pakistan's government, which include positive GDP growth, reduced inflation, and improved foreign exchange reserves.
