Karachi: Pak-Qatar Group (PQG) has announced a strategic partnership with fintech provider SWICH to establish an official online payment gateway solution. This collaboration marks a significant step in PQG's ongoing digital transformation efforts, aiming to integrate a unified payments infrastructure across its various financial services.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), SWICH will be embedded into PQG's digital ecosystem, providing a single API interface for payment collections. The interface will support multiple payment methods, including credit and debit cards, wallets, and direct-debit arrangements. The initiative is designed to streamline transaction processing and improve user experience across all PQG entities.
The rollout of the new system will follow a phased approach, beginning with pilot integrations in select business units. This will include security testing and user trials before a full-scale deployment. Both PQG and SWICH will address regulatory compliance and data security as part of their collaboration, ensuring the system evolves with market demands and fintech standards.
PQG anticipates that the new payment architecture will reduce transaction times and enhance customer satisfaction. As Pakistan's financial sector rapidly digitalizes, PQG aims to strengthen its leadership in the Islamic finance market by offering modern and customer-focused digital services.
The partnership highlights the growing role of fintech in Pakistan's payment infrastructure, supporting digital financial inclusion and real-time transaction capabilities. Through this collaboration, PQG seeks to harness advanced technology to meet stakeholder needs in the evolving landscape of Islamic finance.
