Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has officially rejected the layout plan for the "New Airport Town" housing scheme, labeling the project as illegal and unapproved.
According to Zameen.Com, the RDA's decision followed a thorough review of the scheme's submission by Shahid Mehmood, which was conducted by the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP and TE) Directorate. Located in Mouza Katarian, the scheme has not received the necessary approvals, prompting the RDA to advise the public against investing in the project. Under the guidance of Director General Kinza Murtaza, the RDA has announced its readiness to enforce strict legal measures against any infractions related to this development.
Further complicating the issue, the developers of "New Airport Town" have been actively advertising and selling plots without the RDA’s consent, directly contravening Rule 46(1) of the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules-2021.
