Sialkot Business Leader Denounces Attack on Faisalabad Flour Mills President

Sialkot, The President of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Abdul Ghafoor Malik, has vehemently condemned the attack on Chaudhry Muhammad Shafiq Anjum, the head of the Faisalabad Flour Mills Association, by a Punjab Food Department official.

According to The Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Malik called the assault a "heinous act of sheer terrorism" that has ignited anger among the business community. He voiced concerns about individual safety and societal stability in light of the violence. The attack, linked to a corruption inquiry against the assailant Hamid Cheema, led by the Faisalabad Flour Mills Association, has raised alarms over the retaliation against efforts to maintain transparency in governmental operations.

Malik called for urgent, strict government intervention from the Punjab administration to address and rectify the situation. He also emphasized the essential role of trade organizations in promoting business interests and rectifying system irregularities. Malik’s call to action includes a swift judicial process to bring the attackers to justice and restore trust in the system.

Highlighting the broader implications, Malik criticized the employment of individuals with such detrimental mentalities in significant governmental roles, questioning the hiring and law enforcement practices. He concluded by expressing support for Chaudhry Muhammad Shafiq Anjum and his family, advocating for immediate justice and accountability for the attack.
