Abdullah Zaki Joins Karachi Port Trust’s Board of Trustees

Karachi: Abdullah Zaki, former President of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), has been appointed as a Member of the Board of Trustees for the Karachi Port Trust (KPT). This appointment is part of the recent reconstitution of the board by the federal government.

According to Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the reorganization of KPT’s Board of Trustees under the KPT Act of 1886 has been approved, and Zaki will represent the Karachi Chamber on the board for a two-year term. President of KCCI, Iftikhar Ahmed Sheikh, expressed confidence in Zaki’s capabilities to address the port and shipping challenges faced by the business community, citing his extensive experience and deep understanding of related issues.

Zaki’s roles extend beyond his presidency at the KCCI; he serves as the Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Malawi in Karachi and holds positions such as FPCCI Executive Committee Member and Chairman of various associations including the Pakistan Soap Manufacturers Association and Pakistan Yarn Merchants Association. His contributions to numerous governmental advisory committees and his involvement in business and industry development projects illustrate his broad influence and commitment to enhancing trade and business infrastructure in Pakistan.
