AKD Projects Significant Earnings Growth in Power Sector for 2QFY26

Karachi: AKD Securities Limited has projected a substantial increase in earnings for its power sector portfolio in the second quarter of fiscal year 2026, with expectations of reaching PkR14.6 billion. This marks a significant rise from the PkR1.1 billion reported in the same period last year.

According to AKD Securities Limited, the consolidated revenue for the AKD power universe is anticipated to be PkR21 billion, reflecting a 29% year-on-year growth. This surge is attributed primarily to increased electricity generation by Nishat Power during the period in question.

Additionally, the third quarter of fiscal year 2026 will witness the official market entry of NextGen Autos Ltd, which will begin accepting bookings for its new models: the Jaecoo J5, J7, and Omoda E5.

In its market guidance, AKD Securities Limited maintains a 'HOLD' recommendation on Hub Power Company (HUBC), with a December 2026 target price set at PkR196 per share. Meanwhile, a 'BUY' stance is reiterated for Nishat Power Limited (NPL), with a target price of PkR87 per share by the end of December 2026.
