Allied Bank and LUMS Foster Innovation at 4th Fintech Hackathon

Lahore: Allied Bank, in partnership with the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), recently hosted the 4th Fintech Hackathon, a platform for fintech startups, innovators, and students to develop financial technology solutions. The event sought to contribute to Pakistan's expanding digital landscape through creative solutions.

Participants in the hackathon were given access to expert mentorship, networking opportunities, and a chance to connect with industry professionals. The event was structured into two categories: the growth stage and the early stage. It focused on thematic areas such as digital onboarding and KYC simplification, sustainable banking, AI chatbots, super app transformation, stablecoin integration, and RAAST Person-to-Merchant (P2M) solutions.

Allied Bank's Chief Executive Officer, Aizid Razzaq Gill, emphasized the bank's commitment to nurturing the next generation of innovators. He highlighted the hackathon as a platform for collaboration and innovation, addressing the evolving challenges of the banking sector.

Shahid Hussain, Rector of LUMS, echoed the sentiment, noting fintech's transformative impact on the economy. He underscored the partnership between Allied Bank and LUMS as a bridge between academia and industry, aimed at empowering future innovators and entrepreneurs.
