Army Leadership Boosts Morale and Public Support Amidst National Challenges

Karachi: The Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, has significantly enhanced the morale and credibility of the Pakistani army, while garnering increasing public support through a series of accountability measures and operations against various threats. This boost in institutional integrity and public backing was highlighted in recent statements by a top business leader, underscoring the army’s evolving role in national security and its efforts in disaster response.

According to Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum, Mian Zahid Hussain, a prominent figure in business and former provincial minister, praised General Munir’s leadership on Wednesday. He noted the General’s actions have not only improved the army’s professionalism but have also intensified its operations against terrorism and crime, aligning closely with government efforts to tackle various mafias and anti-national elements. Hussain highlighted that these efforts are critical as the army continues to sacrifice in its ongoing battle against terrorism, with the nation paying homage to these sacrifices.

Hussain also addressed the severe impact of recent monsoon rains which have devastated agriculture, a key sector for the nation’s economy. The destruction of crops and loss of livestock have further strained food security and could potentially exacerbate inflationary pressures, particularly in essential sectors like textiles and sugar due to decreased production. He called for strategic governmental action to mitigate these impacts and stressed the importance of addressing climate change as a persistent threat to national stability and farmer livelihoods.
