Karachi: Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), has welcomed the appointment of Mr. Asif Inam as the Chairman of Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC). The appointment aims to bridge the gap between energy providers and the industrial base they serve by bringing a consumer-centric perspective to the utility's governance.

According to Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Inam, who also serves as Vice President of FPCCI, possesses significant expertise in addressing the energy challenges affecting Pakistan's export sectors. His background includes experience in corporate governance and participation in gas sector reform teams in collaboration with the World Bank. Mr. S. M. Tanveer, Patron-in-Chief of the United Business Group (UBG), stated that Mr. Inam's leadership is expected to enhance operational efficiency, resolve gas supply issues, and improve communication between SSGC and the business community.

The appointment was commemorated with a luncheon hosted by Mian Zahid Hussain, former IT Minister of Sindh and Chairman of the FPCCI Policy Advisory Board. The event, held in honor of Mr. Inam, gathered prominent business leaders, including Mir Allauddin Mari, former Chief Minister of Balochistan, and several senior vice presidents and vice presidents of FPCCI. The gathering provided a platform for discussing economic indicators and the strategic direction of institutions like FPCCI and SSGC, highlighting the unity within the business community in addressing economic challenges.
