Atlas Honda Solidifies Market Dominance in Two-Wheeler Industry

Karachi: Atlas Honda Ltd (ATLH) has reinforced its position as the leading manufacturer of motorcycles in Pakistan, controlling 89% of the market in the current fiscal year, highlighted by a significant increase in earnings and market share expansion.

According to JS Global, the company presented its fiscal year results during an Analyst Briefing today, where it reported a fourth-quarter earnings per share (EPS) of Rs29.23, a 2.76-fold increase year-over-year. For the entire fiscal year, earnings stood at Rs78.24 per share, marking a 94% growth from the previous year. This substantial growth in profitability can be attributed to the strategic price adjustments throughout the year and a doubling of other income, buoyed by a higher policy rate, with the company maintaining around Rs43 billion in cash and short-term investments.

Atlas Honda's management anticipates motorcycle sales to surpass 1 million units, reflecting a 10% year-on-year growth, driven by rising urban demand witnessed over the last two quarters. The future rural demand will, however, hinge on the agricultural output throughout the year, indicating a cautious but optimistic outlook for further expansion in the market.
