Karachi: Attock Refinery Ltd (ATRL) announced a significant 85% increase in profitability for the fiscal year 2026, driven by heightened average selling prices due to ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Gulf region. The company reported net sales of PkR341.6 billion, marking a 13% year-over-year increase, while operating at a capacity utilization rate of 71%.
According to AKD Securities Limited, the management of Attock Refinery attributed the financial success to higher gross refining margins (GRMs) and the introduction of value-added 95 RON PMG, which is currently averaging around 4,000 tons per month. The refinery's production output reached 18.7 million barrels, with a production share of 37% MS, 40% HSD, 10% RFO, and 11% other products.
Despite challenges in crude availability due to reliance on local sources, the refinery has benefitted from the Oil & Gas Development Company (OGDC)'s Baragzai discovery, which is supplying 4,000 barrels per day. Looking ahead, Attock Refinery Ltd expects an increase in crude supply, which could further enhance their production capabilities.
