KARACHI: Bangladesh's Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi, H.E. Muhammad Sakib Sadakat, has called for stronger trade ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh, emphasizing the importance of business-to-business engagement to unlock the untapped commercial potential between the two nations. The deputy high commissioner urged Pakistani industrialists to explore investment and trade opportunities in Bangladesh, offering the High Commission's support in facilitating business contacts and market access.

According to S.I.T.E Association of Industry, the call for enhanced economic cooperation was made during a meeting with a delegation from the association, which included its President Abdul Rehman Fudda and other key officials. The discussion focused on measures to enhance bilateral trade, diversify traded products, and improve trade connectivity through increased business delegations.

The industrialists highlighted logistical improvements, such as increasing direct flight frequency and expanding sea cargo services, as essential steps to reduce trade costs and boost commerce between the two countries. Deputy High Commissioner Sadakat encouraged Pakistani exporters to align their products with Bangladeshi market demand, describing the country as a promising destination for Pakistani exports and investments.

He assured the delegation that the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission would provide comprehensive support to businesses aiming to enter the Bangladeshi market. The deputy high commissioner also emphasized that sustained engagement between the private sectors of both nations, along with stronger institutional cooperation, could significantly enhance bilateral trade and investment.

The SAI delegation invited the deputy high commissioner to visit their association to further solidify cooperation between the business communities of Pakistan and Bangladesh.
