Bank Alfalah Hosts Padel Tournament to Boost Breast Cancer Awareness

Islamabad: On the occasion of Pinktober Breast Cancer Awareness month, Bank Alfalah's Legends Arena partnered with TAMS to host a padel tournament aimed at raising awareness about breast cancer. The event, held on October 17, 2026, welcomed women and young participants, encouraging community involvement through sport.

According to Bank Alfalah, the tournament is part of its ongoing efforts to support breast cancer awareness and treatment. In 2025, the bank committed PKR 14.6 million to assist 37 breast cancer patients with diagnostics, surgery, and medical care through partnerships with Indus Hospital and Health Network and Cancer Foundation Hospital.

Previously, in 2024, Bank Alfalah collaborated with Roche Pakistan and Cancer Foundation Hospital, contributing PKR 10.75 million for medication and treatment for five patients. The bank has also engaged in Pinktober awareness sessions alongside healthcare organizations like Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital, Chughtai Lab, and the Samina Alvi Foundation.

Mehreen Ahmed, Group Head of Retail Banking at Bank Alfalah, participated in the tournament and stressed the importance of an active lifestyle and early detection in combating breast cancer. "Staying active is essential for women's mental and physical health. In Pakistan, 1 in 9 women are at risk of developing breast cancer in their lifetime, which can be avoided. An early detection of this can save lives," she stated.

The tournament further supports Indus Hospital's Al-Hasna program for early screening and treatment of breast cancer. Bank Alfalah continues to champion breast cancer awareness, treatment access, and women's health initiatives across Pakistan through its community programs.
