Bank Alfalah Reports 40% Increase in Profitability for 1HCY26

Karachi: Bank Alfalah Limited (BAFL) announced a 40% year-on-year increase in profitability for the first half of the calendar year 2026, driven by higher capital gains and asset book growth. The bank reported a profit of PkR21.3 billion, or PkR6.8 per share, compared to PkR15.3 billion, or PkR4.8 per share, during the same period last year.

According to AKD Securities Limited, the bank's net interest income (NII) rose by 5% to PkR70.8 billion, attributed to an optimized balance sheet and growth in current accounts. Additionally, non-interest income saw a significant surge of 46%, reaching PkR35.3 billion, bolstered by a twofold increase in capital gains as well as higher foreign exchange and fee income.

Bank Alfalah's analyst briefing provided insights into the financial results and future outlook, highlighting the bank's focus on capital efficiency and revenue diversification as key factors in its improved performance.
