Karachi: Bank Alfalah Limited (BAFL) held an analyst briefing discussing its financial performance for the first nine months of the calendar year 2026, revealing a significant increase in profitability. The bank's profit rose by 43% year-on-year to PkR30.6 billion, with earnings per share reaching PkR9.7, up from PkR21.4 billion and PkR6.8 per share in the same period last year. This growth was attributed to an increase in earning assets, higher non-markup income, and a reversal of provisions against expenses.
According to AKD Securities Limited, the briefing highlighted a 31% increase in non-interest income, amounting to PkR46.2 billion, supported by capital gains and foreign exchange income. Administrative expenses saw a modest rise of 4%, attributed to reduced marketing expenses for home remittances, which helped lower the cost-to-income ratio to 58% from 63% previously. The bank also reported provisioning reversals of PkR3.1 billion, in contrast to an expense of PkR1.9 billion in the previous year, due to strong recoveries and the disposal of overseas investments.
