Bank Alfalah Reports Increased Profitability Amid Asset Growth in 2QCY26

Karachi: Bank Alfalah Ltd. (BAFL) disclosed its financial results for the second quarter of the calendar year 2026, revealing a notable rise in profitability driven by asset growth. The bank recorded a net profit after tax of PKR 10.2 billion, equating to earnings per share of PKR 3.2. This marks a 24% increase compared to the same period last year, although it represents an 8% decline from the previous quarter. The bank also announced an interim cash dividend of PKR 1.5 per share.

According to AKD Securities Limited, the bank's net interest income reached PKR 36.3 billion for the quarter, reflecting a 6% increase year-on-year and a 5% increase from the previous quarter. This growth was attributed to an expansion in earning assets. Notably, the bank's investments surged by 43% year-on-year and 76% quarter-on-quarter, totaling PKR 2.3 trillion by the end of June 2026. This was supported by an increase in deposits, which grew by 16% year-on-year and 8% quarter-on-quarter to PKR 2.7 trillion, along with a significant rise in borrowings, which increased by 51% year-on-year and more than sixfold quarter-on-quarter to PKR 841 billion.
