Karachi: In a collaborative effort to advance Riba-free banking in Pakistan, BankIslami and ZLK Islamic Financial Services conducted a session focusing on Islamic finance for industry leaders and advocates of ethical banking. The event, titled 'Leading with Purpose,' aimed to foster discussions around Islamic finance, helping individuals make informed, faith-aligned financial decisions.
The session saw participation from corporate leaders and organizations such as the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry, along with representatives from civil society, the armed forces, government, financial institutions, and religious scholars.
Dr. Mufti Irshad Ahmad Aijaz, who serves as Chairman of the Shariah Advisory Committee of SECP and Chairperson of the Shariah Board of BankIslami, delivered a keynote address. He highlighted the global relevance of Islamic finance, addressing misconceptions and emphasizing its ethical and socially responsible nature.
Rizwan Ata, President & CEO of BankIslami, remarked on the importance of fostering dialogue on Riba-free banking. He expressed honor in partnering with ZLK Islamic Financial Services to strengthen the position of Islamic banking in Pakistan and work towards a Riba-free economy.
Zahid Latif Khan, Chairman of ZLK Islamic Financial Services, noted that the partnership aims to expand understanding and trust in Shariah-compliant investments. He emphasized the shared vision of creating a principled financial ecosystem serving all societal segments and aligning with the country's direction toward a fully Islamic financial system.
