Karachi: BankIslami has announced a major upgrade to its digital Islamic banking platform, 'aik', enhancing its capabilities to provide Pakistan's first truly Riba-free digital banking experience. The revamped platform now offers improved system features and new tools aimed at providing a more intuitive and seamless user journey.
With this upgrade, BankIslami enables customers to open current and Bachat accounts instantly via their smartphones, promoting financial inclusion across various customer segments in Pakistan. This development aligns with the State Bank of Pakistan's "Go Cashless" initiative, as the aik app now supports Raast QR payments, offering Shariah-compliant solutions for micro and small merchants.
The 'aik' platform is evolving beyond traditional banking services, introducing the 'aik Deen' module. This new addition offers users features such as Azaan alerts, a digital Quran, Islamic calendar, Qibla compass, Hadith and Ayat notifications, and live streaming from Makkah and Madinah.
Additionally, the platform introduces modern conveniences like bill splitting, gifting money, referral rewards, and invite-and-earn programs, making banking more rewarding. Ashfaque Ahmed, Chief Officer of aik, emphasized the platform's role as a lifestyle companion, catering to customers seeking a Shariah-compliant way of life.
Rizwan Ata, President and CEO of BankIslami, highlighted the bank's commitment to making Islamic banking effortless and accessible. He stated that strengthening the digital platform empowers Pakistanis with a modern alternative, advancing the bank's mission of "Saving Humanity from Riba."
With 'aik' at the forefront, BankIslami continues its mission of providing Riba-free Islamic banking solutions, integrating modern technology with Islamic principles to ensure Shariah-compliant banking remains accessible and relevant for future generations.
