Islamabad: Bestway Cement has received the "Pakistan Environmental Awards 2024," a recognition of its efforts to foster sustainable and environmentally friendly practices within the manufacturing sector. The award, part of World Environment Day celebrations, acknowledges the company's innovative approaches to environmental conservation.

According to Bestway Cement Pakistan, the award ceremony was hosted by Devcom-Pakistan in partnership with the Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) and other environmental and industrial organizations. Additionally, the company has pioneered in water conservation by implementing Air Cooled Condenser Systems and constructing large rainwater harvesting reservoirs to minimize reliance on underground water sources.

Significantly, Bestway Cement has also established the first Waste Heat Recovery Power Plant (WHRPP) in Pakistan, enhancing its sustainability credentials. Furthermore, all Bestway plants exceed the environmental standards set by both the Pakistan EPA and international norms, as evidenced by their ISO 14001:2004 certifications.
