KARACHI: In a show of support for the Businessmen Group (BMG) during the ongoing Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) elections, a dinner was hosted by Premier Cables on behalf of Shoaib Ismail and family members. The event was attended by prominent business leaders from across the city, underscoring the BMG's influential role in the local business community.

According to Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the gathering was attended by notable figures such as Arif Habib, Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, and KCCI President Rehan Hanif, among others. The BMG is perceived as a strong contender in the elections with substantial support expected in its favor.

Arif Habib, head of Arif Habib Group, emphasized the BMG leaders' understanding of business issues and their effective representation before the government. He highlighted the group's long-standing history of serving Karachi's business community and the need for enhanced export growth, pointing to the Ministry of Maritime Affairs' role in this regard.

Aqeel Karim Dhedhi praised the Karachi Chamber's performance and expressed his support for the BMG. He also encouraged political leadership similar to BMG's and suggested Zubair Motiwala should consider national politics.

Zubair Motiwala, BMG Chairman, reiterated the group's commitment to addressing the needs of all traders, regardless of their chamber membership. He introduced BMG candidates, emphasizing the group's dedication to equal representation.

Shoaib Ismail remarked on the enduring influence of late leader S.M. Muneer and highlighted the group's consistent electoral success over the years. KCCI President Rehan Hanif criticized the rival group's intentions, questioning their capacity to serve chamber members effectively.

Business leaders such as Javed Bilwani and Anjum Nisar stressed the economic significance of the Karachi Chamber, while others expressed confidence in BMG's impending victory in the elections.
