Islamabad: In a significant move to enhance healthcare and educational facilities in the capital, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board has greenlit the modernisation of Capital Hospital and allocated land for the establishment of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Science and Technology (SZABIT) University.

According to Zameen.Com, during a pivotal meeting held on July 31, the CDA Board approved several critical initiatives under the leadership of Chairman Randhawa. These include the modernisation of Capital Hospital to bolster healthcare services in Islamabad and the allocation of 27 kanals in Sector H8 for the construction of SZABIT University. This decision underscores the CDA’s commitment to advancing both health and education sectors in the city.

The board also endorsed the implementation of federal maternity and paternity rules within the CDA and sanctioned medical insurance policies for its employees, aiming to improve welfare measures for the workforce. Moreover, Chairman Randhawa emphasized the necessity for high standards and timely completion of ongoing development projects, directing the Engineering and Works Department to ensure top-quality execution and avoid any lapses.

Particular focus was given to the Park Road widening project, which is currently under construction. Despite proposals for a partial inauguration, Chairman Randhawa decided against it to ensure comprehensive completion. He instructed that one or two lanes be temporarily opened to ease public traffic until the full project is officially inaugurated, highlighting a balanced approach to development and public convenience.
