CDA Sets Up Committees for Nilore Heights Dispute Resolution and Refunds

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has taken decisive steps to address issues in the Nilore Heights housing project by establishing a new committee to handle disputes and approving refunds for overseas Pakistanis. These measures were decided upon during the 15th CDA Board meeting, aiming to enhance transparency and support for investors.

According to Zameen.Com, the seven-member committee formed by the CDA will assess claims and manage disputes concerning the Nilore Heights project. In a significant relief measure, the board approved full refunds of processing fees for overseas Pakistanis, reflecting a responsive approach to the concerns of these investors regarding the project’s administration.

Further actions include the formation of a third-party validation committee to review the initial committee’s recommendations on disputed claims and land issues. This structure is designed to ensure fairness in handling grievances, with provisions made for rehabilitating affected parties based on the findings.

Additionally, the CDA Board decided that land plots in Sector C-14 would be distributed through a draw, with a focus on prioritizing overseas Pakistanis, acknowledging the challenges faced by this group in property dealings. The board also discussed regulatory reforms, directing a newly formed committee to recommend updates to land acquisition rules to streamline CDA operations.

The meeting underscored the CDA’s proactive stance on legal and urban development issues by directing the legal wing to draft new market establishment guidelines and appointing a new legal advisor with specific restrictions on former advisors. These decisions are part of broader efforts to bolster governance and ensure equitable treatment of investors in the Nilore Heights project and beyond.
