CDA to Introduce Online Building Plan Approvals in Islamabad

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is poised to revolutionize its building plan approval process with the launch of an online system effective September 1, aiming to enhance transparency and efficiency.

According to Zameen.Com, this digital shift is designed to curb corruption and minimize delays traditionally associated with the Building Control Section. CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa presided over a meeting to finalize the online procedure, which will permit applicants to submit their building plans and monitor their progress remotely, thus eliminating the need to physically visit CDA offices. Moreover, the CDA is planning to introduce a comprehensive application that will host various online services. Although the initiative has been generally well-received, there are concerns regarding its potential to alter the entrenched behaviors of CDA staff, who are often blamed for procedural holdups.
