Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has unveiled plans to lease strategically positioned service road spots along 14 major highways in Islamabad to international food chains and establish motorway-style rest areas.
According to Zameen.Com, the initiative is designed to transform key roadside locations into profitable hubs for both the city and private enterprises. The CDA intends to attract renowned international food outlets to lease spaces along these service roads, offering a variety of dining options to travelers. This move aims to enhance the roadside dining landscape and cater to the needs of both local commuters and tourists.
Moreover, the plan includes the development of rest areas akin to those found on motorways, featuring seating facilities to improve the travel experience. These facilities will host a mix of global and premium local food brands, adhering to strict food safety standards and quality controls. The first phase of this project will commence at two prime locations near Lake View Park, a noted tourist spot. The bidding process for these sought-after locations is set to begin shortly, with advertisements calling for potential investors.
