Chaman: The Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, officially launched the Chaman Master Plan Project on Thursday, aiming to revitalize the border town of Chaman by transforming it into a major border trade hub and reducing its reliance on smuggling activities.
According to Zameen.Com, The Chaman Master Plan Project seeks to capitalize on the town's strategic location by the Afghanistan border, which has recently seen significant local unrest with an eight-month protest by the business community. During the inauguration, CM Bugti highlighted the project's potential to foster legitimate trade and increase employment opportunities in Chaman. He stressed the government's commitment to addressing local challenges and leveraging development schemes to stabilize the region's economy.
The project is expected to offer new growth prospects for Chaman, aiming to resolve longstanding issues and improve economic conditions for its residents.
