Paris: China Mobile and Huawei were honored with the Best 5G Voice Innovation Award for their 5G New Calling solution at Network X’s annual award ceremony. This recognition highlights the technical excellence and market impact of their joint venture, marking a significant advancement in the 5G era’s voice communications.

According to Huawei, the Network X award ceremony is a key event in the global communications industry, attracting leading telecom operators and technology innovators. The award for Best 5G Voice Innovation underlines the transformative potential and market readiness of the 5G New Calling solution, propelling it as a major force in the evolution of global telecommunications.

The 5G New Calling initiative leverages advanced IP Multimedia Subsystem technology to provide a multimodal communications platform that integrates voice, text, images, and gestures. It features Real-Time Translation, Visualized Voice Calling, and Real-Time Voice Driven Avatars, offering users an enhanced and interactive communication experience.

Feng Shaorui, Head of China Mobile International France, upon receiving the award, reaffirmed China Mobile’s dedication to innovative development and highlighted the effective collaboration with Huawei. He detailed plans to further develop New Calling into a comprehensive service integrated directly into user dialing pads, emphasizing the strategic use of intelligent technologies to elevate user engagement.

Chen Haiyong, President of the CSandIMS Domain at Huawei Cloud Core Network Product Line, reflected on the accomplishment of establishing the world’s first commercial 5G New Calling network.
