Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif recently visited the Ravi Sapphire Bay near Sheikhupura to inspect the ongoing development efforts there, focusing particularly on the River Training Work Development Plan and related infrastructural advancements.
According to Zameen.Com, during her visit, RUDA CEO Imran Amin briefed CM Sharif on the specifics of the project. The plan includes the channelization of 46 km of the River Ravi, which will be executed in three phases and incorporate extensive green spaces, with 36% of the project area dedicated to forests. Amin also outlined additional components of the initiative, such as the construction of a 46-km three-way road stretching from Siphen to Hudayara Drain and the development of three barrages, all integral to the broader Ravi River Front Project.
The Chief Minister’s tour included visits to the sites of the River Training Works and the Barrage, where she reviewed the construction activities firsthand, assessing the project’s progress and ensuring that development timelines are met as planned.
