CM Sindh Commends My Karachi Exhibition as a Symbol of Resilience

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah praised the successful conclusion of the My Karachi - Oasis of Harmony Exhibition, highlighting it as a testament to the resilience and optimism of Karachi's residents. Despite a slight decrease in overall attendance, the event attracted millions and offered significant discounts, providing relief amidst economic challenges.

According to Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Chief Minister addressed a press conference at the Karachi Expo Center, marking the end of the 21st edition of the exhibition. Shah emphasized the event's significance as a staple in the city's annual calendar, promoting trade and cultural harmony. The exhibition drew high-profile attendees, including Chairman Businessmen Group Zubair Motiwala and diplomats from friendly countries.

Shah commended the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) for their consistent efforts in organizing the exhibition without interruption, despite numerous challenges. He also acknowledged KCCI's swift response to recent issues such as the Gul Plaza fire and highlighted the Sindh Government's cooperation in compensation efforts.

The Chief Minister remarked on Karachi's vibrant activities, including the ongoing Karachi Literature Festival and the Urs of Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan, despite various challenges. He called for political parties to adopt a constructive approach, emphasizing the importance of avoiding disruptions to economic activities.

Addressing questions, Shah admitted the need to improve Karachi's fire brigade system and outlined plans for a unified, well-equipped emergency response. Regarding the K-IV water supply project, he noted its federal responsibility and the Sindh Government's efforts to arrange funding for necessary augmentation works to alleviate water shortages.

Shah reiterated Karachi's resilience and the vital role of events like the My Karachi Exhibition in fostering economic activity and social harmony in the region.
