Daraz Pakistan Launches Support Initiative for Sellers Affected by Gul Plaza Fire

Karachi: Daraz Pakistan is set to introduce a comprehensive support initiative aimed at assisting sellers affected by the recent fire at Gul Plaza in Karachi. This effort, under the Daraz Cares arm, seeks to provide crucial aid to businesses as they work to regain stability and continue serving customers throughout Pakistan.

According to Daraz, the initiative will include a dedicated segment on its platform to help customers discover and support these sellers. The company plans to facilitate onboarding and deliver targeted training to enable affected businesses to resume operations online. Additionally, Daraz will offer warehouse space for inventory storage and provide subsidized delivery services. To bolster visibility, Daraz will extend free on-site and digital marketing support using its own assets.

A special incubation and support track will be available for the next three months, offering hands-on guidance to help stabilize businesses, particularly during the Ramadan and Eid season. Daraz Cares focuses on leveraging the company's resources and partnerships to assist communities in need.

Ehsan Saya, Managing Director of Daraz Pakistan, underscored the significance of Gul Plaza as a marketplace and expressed the company's commitment to supporting the entrepreneurs impacted by the tragedy. "Our focus now is to stand with these entrepreneurs in a way that is practical and compassionate," Saya remarked.

The fire at Gul Plaza has disrupted a key business hub and affected many entrepreneurs connected to Daraz's broader seller ecosystem. Daraz encourages impacted sellers to register through a dedicated online form or reach out via their usual support channels to access the available assistance. The company's thoughts remain with those affected by the incident.
