DHA Bahawalpur Launches Ambitious Monsoon Plantation Drive to Plant 50,000 Trees

Bahawalpur: The Defence Housing Authority Bahawalpur has kicked off its Monsoon Plantation Drive 2024 with a grand inauguration ceremony aimed at planting 50,000 trees this season. This initiative marks a significant commitment to enhancing the region’s environmental landscape.

According to Zameen.Com, the event, which took place at the DHA Bahawalpur main office on Jinnah Avenue, attracted over 1,500 participants from various sectors. These included local residents, realtors, business partners, educational institutions, civil society members, and government officials. The diversity of attendees underscores the widespread community support for the environmental project.

Brigadier Ashar Mehboob (Retd), Project Secretary of DHA Bahawalpur, spearheaded the inauguration. He emphasized the drive’s importance in fostering a greener, more sustainable environment and expressed his gratitude towards all contributors for their dedication and support.

The Monsoon Plantation Drive includes a variety of plant species, from shade trees and date palms to fruit orchards, aiming not only to increase the green cover but also to encourage community involvement in environmental preservation efforts.
