DUBAI: In a remarkable financial leap, the Emirates Group has announced unprecedented profit figures for the 2024-25 fiscal year, solidifying its position as the globe's leading aviation group in profitability. The group's flagship carrier, Emirates, also emerged as the world's most profitable airline, according to the company's recently released annual report.
Emirates reported a record-setting pre-tax profit of AED 21.2 billion (US$ 5.8 billion), marking a 20% rise from the previous year. Its revenue reached AED 127.9 billion (US$ 34.9 billion), reflecting a 6% increase. The airline also recorded its highest-ever cash asset levels at AED 49.7 billion (US$ 13.5 billion), a 16% rise compared to the figures on 31 March 2024.
This financial year marked the first application of the UAE's corporate tax, introduced in 2023. Despite the 9% tax charge, the Emirates Group's profit after tax stood at AED 20.5 billion (US$ 5.6 billion).
HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates airline and Group, attributed the success to strategic planning and the support of Dubai's aviation sector. He emphasized the group's commitment to delivering value to Dubai and its stakeholders, while investing in technology and talent.
The Emirates Group's success story follows a 40-year journey initiated by the Dubai government, with a mission to excel in aviation services and contribute positively to the community. Sheikh Ahmed highlighted the group's dedication to maintaining high standards and resilience in the face of global challenges.
