Karachi: The Board of Engro Corporation has announced the appointment of Mr. Junaid Iqbal as the upcoming President and CEO of the company, taking over from Mr. Ahsan Zafar Syed in April 2027. Mr. Iqbal, who is currently serving as an Advisor to the CEO of Engro Holdings, will step into his new role following the completion of Mr. Syed’s term.

According to Engro Corporation Limited, the succession plan is aligned with Engro’s strategy for future growth, building on its strong industrial businesses and capabilities in engineering and project development. Mr. Iqbal’s extensive experience in technology, finance, and media, including his previous roles at Careem and Elixir Securities, is expected to complement Engro’s existing strengths and support its ambitions for sustainable, long-term returns.

The Board expressed its gratitude to Mr. Ahsan Zafar Syed for his leadership, noting his achievements, such as key transactions and the company's recognition on the Pakistan Stock Exchange. Upon the completion of his term, Mr. Syed will become Counsel to the Chairman of Engro Holdings, allowing the company to continue benefiting from his expertise.

The transition period will focus on ensuring a seamless leadership change, with Mr. Iqbal engaging closely with Engro's operations and strategic priorities under Mr. Syed’s mentorship. This approach underscores Engro’s commitment to thoughtful succession planning and leadership continuity.
