Lahore: Engro Fertilizers has inaugurated a new Markaz Centre in Muridke, expanding its network to four centers across Pakistan. This move aims to support the government's efforts to ensure high-quality fertilizers are available at controlled prices to farmers in Muridke, Bahawalpur, Sargodha, and Sahiwal.

According to a statement by Engro Fertilizer Limited, the opening ceremony was attended by Federal Minister for Industries and Production and National Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain. Officials from National Food Security and Research, provincial administrators, senior members of the farming community, and Engro Fertilizers officials were also present.

During the event, Minister Hussain emphasized the government’s commitment to the agricultural sector and farmer welfare. He highlighted the collaboration between the government and the fertilizer industry to maintain a steady supply of fertilizers at regulated prices. Engro Fertilizers was commended for its role in establishing Markaz Centres, which aim to prevent hoarding and price manipulation.

Ali Rathore, CEO of Engro Fertilizers, praised the government's agricultural initiatives, stating that the Markaz Centres will ensure farmers receive fertilizers on time and at official prices. He also mentioned that these centers will promote awareness of innovative farming products and technologies provided by Engro Fertilizers.

Rathore introduced the UgAi app, an e-commerce platform developed by Engro Fertilizers. The app allows farmers to purchase fertilizers directly at official prices and employs drone technology and satellite imagery to help farmers monitor crops, reduce costs, and improve yields.
