Karachi: Engro Powergen Qadirpur Ltd (EPQL) presented its financial performance and future outlook at an analyst briefing today, revealing significant financial results for the first nine months of 2026. The briefing highlighted a 17% year-on-year increase in sales revenue, reaching PkR10.1 billion, compared to PkR8.6 billion in the same period last year, largely attributed to higher fuel prices and an improved load factor.
According to AKD Securities Limited, despite the rise in sales revenue, EPQL's profitability declined by 18% year-on-year, totaling PkR700 million from PkR851 million previously. This decrease was primarily due to lower finance income amidst reduced interest on delayed payments. The company reported earnings per share (EPS) of PkR2.2, down from PkR2.6 in the same period last year.
EPQL achieved a high availability factor of 99% during the nine-month period, dispatching 653 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity to the national grid. The load factor improved to 47%, up from 41% in the same period last year, due to increased utilization of PEL gas and fewer scheduled outage days.
