Faisalabad: Plans to convert the Gatwala Wildlife Breeding Centre into a zoo are advancing with a renewed push from local authorities and support from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The project, which has faced delays in the past, now moves forward with a feasibility study currently underway.

According to Zameen.com, the Chief Minister’s recent visit to Faisalabad highlighted the government’s commitment to this transformation. The feasibility assessments and necessary paperwork are being completed by the Divisional Deputy Director and Assistant Director of Wildlife, aiming to overcome previous hurdles that stalled the project three times.

Residents of Faisalabad are optimistic about the project’s completion this time, anticipating a new affordable recreational option that promotes wildlife education and conservation. The zoo is expected to enhance the city’s leisure facilities significantly.

This initiative aligns with the government’s strategy to enhance public amenities and foster environmental awareness through thoughtful urban development. Upon completion, the new zoo promises to enrich Faisalabad’s cultural and recreational landscape, catering to the needs of its growing population.
