Islamabad: Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC) conducted its corporate briefing session for the third quarter of 2026, highlighting key developments in the company's financial performance and market outlook. The management reported a 10% year-over-year increase in urea sales, reaching 2.16 million tons, and a rise in market share to 49% from 47% in the same period last year.
According to JS Global, the overall industry urea offtake grew by 5% year-over-year to 4.4 million tons in the first nine months of 2026. FFC's growth was primarily driven by increased sales of Sona NC and Sona ZC. Meanwhile, Sona Prilled sales saw a slight decline. The company noted a decrease in industry DAP offtake due to elevated prices, impacting FFC's DAP sales, although the market share for DAP remained stable at 68%.
FFC's management identified the rising prices of phosphoric acid as a significant challenge, contributing to increased DAP manufacturing costs and affecting margins. The company's borrowings rose by 37% to Rs84.1 billion, largely due to investments in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). The stock-in-trade also increased substantially, driven by higher inventories of phosphoric acid and DAP.
The Sona Centre network expanded its reach, enhancing farmer engagement and significantly boosting urea and DAP sales through this channel. Additionally, FFC reported an 11% increase in unconsolidated profit and a 13% rise in consolidated profit for the first nine months of 2026, with notable contributions from its subsidiaries and associates.
FFC management also addressed dealer margins and stated that no discounts are planned for the current quarter. The company continues to maintain a positive outlook and has affirmed a “BUY” recommendation, citing its trading metrics for 2026.
