FBR Sets September 30 Deadline for 2024 Income Tax Returns

Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has declared September 30 as the definitive deadline for filing income tax returns for the fiscal year 2023-24, emphasizing the importance of timely submission to avoid legal repercussions and financial penalties.

According to Zameen.Com, individuals who fail to meet the deadline will face a penalty of 0.1 percent on the unpaid tax amount, with a minimum penalty of PKR 1,000 for individual filers and PKR 50,000 for other categories. The FBR has specifically noted that individuals with significant bank balances, property ownership, or those who travel frequently are obligated to file their tax returns.
