Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has successfully surpassed its revenue collection target for July 2024, amassing PKR 659.2 billion against a goal of PKR 656 billion, instilling confidence in its fiscal strategy for the year.
According to Zameen.Com, this accomplishment comes even after the FBR issued PKR 77.9 billion in refunds, marking a robust start to the fiscal year 2024-25. The overachievement in July bolsters the FBR’s ambitious target of PKR 12.97 trillion for the entire fiscal year. During a recent briefing, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, along with other senior officials, outlined the FBR’s future plans, which include significant digitization efforts and enhancements in revenue collection mechanisms.
The minister lauded the efforts of former Chairman Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana and expressed optimism about the capabilities of the new Chairman, Rashid Mahmood Langrial, to steer the organization towards meeting its annual fiscal targets.
