Federal Minister Assesses Progress at Sky Gardens Housing Project

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Housing and Works Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada conducted an inspection of the Sky Gardens housing project on Thursday to evaluate its infrastructural developments. This visit highlights the government’s commitment to enhancing residential facilities for federal employees, with the project currently advancing through significant construction phases.

According to Zameen.Com, the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) is managing the project under the auspices of the Ministry of Housing and Works. The visit included a comprehensive briefing from the FGEHA Director General on the current progress and discussions with contractors about ongoing developments. Sky Gardens, also known as Green Enclave-II, spans 11,000 kanals and is located near the Murree Expressway.

The project, which kicked off in 2019 as a joint venture, faced initial delays but has now seen considerable advancements in the construction of roads, boundary walls, and water and sewerage systems with a total investment of PKR 7.944 billion. Infrastructure work in blocks H, J, and K, part of phase-1 (B), is actively progressing.

During his visit, Minister Pirzada inaugurated the Commoners Bridge and led a tree-planting ceremony, underscoring the environmental considerations within the development plan. The project is expected to complete some infrastructural segments by December 2024, with a full completion targeted for the end of 2026.
