Karachi: The Federal Minister for Petroleum, Mr. Ali Pervaiz Malik, visited the headquarters of Pakistan State Oil (PSO) to engage in strategic discussions on national energy security and sector modernization. The visit underscores the government's commitment to enhancing the country's energy infrastructure amidst global uncertainties.

According to Pakistan State Oil, the meeting, attended by key officials including Secretary Petroleum Mr. Hamed Yaqoob Sheikh and Additional Secretary (Policy) Mr. Zafar Abbas, focused on PSO's financial performance and strategic initiatives. PSO CEO Mr. Jawwad Ahmed Cheema briefed the delegation on the company's operational achievements and future plans, which include ensuring a steady fuel supply chain amid international challenges.

The discussions addressed the impact of volatile global fuel prices and disruptions in maritime corridors on energy security. Collaborative measures were explored to safeguard the domestic market, including international procurement strategies, diversification of supply sources, and enhancement of strategic reserves.
