Faisalabad: Engr. Muhammad Amir, Chief Executive Officer of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO), highlighted the importance of respecting and protecting women's rights during a seminar on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2010, held at FESCO headquarters today.
According to Faisalabad Electric Supply Company, the seminar addressed the low representation of women in the power sector and the measures FESCO has implemented to support them, including the establishment of a regular committee to address harassment issues. This committee is led by DG Mirad Medium Sadaf Naz and aims to ensure a safe working environment for all female employees.
Director General (HR) Farrukh Aftab provided an overview of the Harassment of Women Act 2010, emphasizing that its adoption is mandatory for all institutions. He detailed the law's goals of empowering organizations to self-regulate and establish protocols to combat sexual harassment. Furthermore, DG Admin Mujtaba Khan discussed FESCO's efforts to foster a respectful culture within the institution.
Madam Sadaf Naz reinforced the company's zero-tolerance policy towards sexual harassment and encouraged the promotion of women in the workforce to aid the country's development. She assured that while no incidents have been reported at FESCO, the committee remains ready to act swiftly should any issues arise.
