Foodpanda and CIRCLE Partner to Boost Women Entrepreneurs in Pakistan’s Culinary Industry

Karachi, Foodpanda, a prominent delivery platform in Pakistan, has announced a partnership with CIRCLE, a tech organization aimed at advancing women's economic roles through digital literacy and entrepreneurship. The collaboration focuses on empowering female chefs with training and tools to enhance their business capabilities and market presence.

According to Foodpanda, the partnership with CIRCLE involves providing specialized training for female chefs. This training includes using social media, leveraging smartphone technology, understanding payment gateways, and utilizing technological solutions for financial inclusion. Raafay Munir, Head of Strategic Verticals at foodpanda, noted that the initiative is designed to promote diversity and innovation within the food industry, with the aim of unlocking the potential of talented female chefs and fostering their growth and success.

Sadaffe Abid, CEO of CIRCLE, emphasized that the combination of Foodpanda's platform and CIRCLE's expertise in digital literacy would significantly impact the economic empowerment of women in the culinary sector. The partnership is intended to create more inclusive and equitable opportunities for women to thrive in the food industry.

In support of this initiative, foodpanda plans to offer relief on commissions and special concessions for new HomeChefs who join through CIRCLE's training programs. The company will also provide a 30-day incubation period for each newly onboarded HomeChef, offering support with menu mapping, deal creation, pricing strategies, and understanding regional cuisine popularity.

Furthermore, foodpanda will organize dedicated speaking sessions for batches of HomeChefs trained under CIRCLE's programs, aiming to outline the benefits and opportunities of joining their platform, including ease of business and comprehensive support during the incubation phase.
