Lahore: As Pakistan enters its annual smog season, foodpanda, the country's leading online delivery platform, has announced the distribution of 8,000 Smog Safety Kits to its riders nationwide as part of its "Breath of Care" initiative. This effort underscores the company's commitment to the health and safety of its workforce, especially during periods of poor air quality.
The Smog Safety Kits include essentials designed to protect riders from the health risks associated with smog. Each kit contains high-grade filtration face masks, anti-smog glasses, anti-allergy medication, and respiratory soothing remedies such as honey lemon lozenges and Joshanda sachets. Additionally, skin protectants and rose water are provided for eye hygiene. Reflective bike stickers are also included to enhance rider visibility and safety in foggy or low-light conditions.
Ahsan Malik, Head of Logistics at foodpanda, articulated the significance of this initiative, emphasizing the importance of rider safety during challenging weather conditions. "Our riders are the heroes of our platform," Malik stated. "Their safety and well-being are our absolute priority as we enter the smog season. Distributing these Smog Safety Kits is a tangible demonstration of our 'Breath of Care' commitment."
The initiative was made possible through collaboration with foodpanda's internal pharmacy team and external partners, including Bright Vision, Herbion, Hashmi, and Cool and Cool, who contributed essential products for the kits.
Foodpanda's initiative is part of a broader strategy aimed at enhancing rider welfare and promoting environmental responsibility. The company is actively working towards mitigating the effects of smog, striving for a healthier working environment for all involved.
