Foodpanda Launches ‘Panda Cares’ to Enhance Support for Delivery Partners

Karachi, Foodpanda has announced the launch of 'panda cares,' a comprehensive support program designed to enhance the work experience of its delivery partners by focusing on safety, well-being, personal development, community engagement, and welfare perks. This initiative reflects the company's ongoing commitment to improving conditions for its delivery workforce.

According to Foodpanda, 'Panda cares' consolidates both new and existing initiatives under one umbrella to address various aspects of delivery partners' lives. This includes health screenings, mental health support, insurance provisions, and access to sporting events aimed at improving their overall well-being. The program also features safety training, financial literacy workshops, scholarships, and entrepreneurship opportunities to aid personal development.

In terms of community support and welfare, the initiative provides fuel subsidies, supermarket vouchers, and discounts on motorbike rentals and mobile plans, easing financial burdens. Foodpanda has also enhanced its in-app communication tools and established physical rider hubs to foster a supportive community environment, particularly under challenging weather conditions.

Muntaqa Peracha, CEO of Foodpanda, emphasized the importance of the program, stating, "With the rise of gig work, our responsibility to support our frontline workers becomes even more crucial. 'Panda cares' aims to empower our delivery partners, helping them feel valued and providing them with the tools to succeed both on and off the road."

Further safety measures include ongoing road safety awareness sessions conducted in collaboration with local traffic authorities in Sindh and Punjab, with plans to expand these initiatives to other major cities across Pakistan.
