Karachi: The foreign exchange market in Pakistan witnessed fluctuations in currency rates, with notable changes recorded for the U.S. dollar, euro, and British pound. Exchange rates reported varied across different currencies, impacting the financial market landscape.
According to Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan, the U.S. dollar traded between 278.90 and 279.68 Pakistani rupees, while the euro saw a range from 319.48 to 322.47 rupees. The British pound was recorded at 374.60 to 377.90 rupees. The Japanese yen, meanwhile, fluctuated between 1.72 and 1.78 rupees. Additionally, the United Arab Emirates dirham and Saudi riyal were reported at 76.17 to 76.76 rupees and 74.55 to 75.05 rupees respectively. Interbank rates were observed at 278.00 to 278.20 rupees for the U.S. dollar.
The variations in the rates come amid ongoing global economic developments and local market responses. The changes in currency values continue to play a critical role in import-export dynamics and the overall economic environment in Pakistan.
