Karachi: A significant breakthrough in trade relations was marked during the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) delegation's visit to Oman. The Oman – Pakistan Business Forum, held at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), witnessed a historic agreement to jointly host a Pakistan – Oman Single Country exhibition, a move poised to bolster economic and investment connections between the two nations.
The forum, led by Mr. Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, Senior Vice President of FPCCI, received a warm reception from Engr. Hamoud Bin Salem Al-Saadi, Acting Chairman of OCCI. The event was graced by notable figures including H.E. Syed Naveed Bokhari, Pakistan's Ambassador to Oman, and Mr. Aman Paracha, Vice President of FPCCI. The gathering also saw the participation of Sheikh Nadeem Mehboob Magoon, Chairman of FPCCI’s Pakistan – Oman Business Council, alongside senior FPCCI officials, Omani entrepreneurs, and esteemed members of the Pakistani community residing in Oman.
Following the forum, a series of business-to-business meetings and a networking lunch took place, where emerging trade and investment prospects were underscored. A crucial point of discussion was the reactivation of the Pakistan – Oman Joint Business Council, viewed as an essential step towards enhancing bilateral trade ties.
The delegation's visit was further highlighted by a prestigious dinner hosted by Dr. Syed Sharif Ataullah Shah in honor of the FPCCI members. The event was attended by dignitaries such as Mr. Ishrat Bhatti, Commercial Counsellor at the Pakistan Embassy in Oman, and other prominent figures including Syed Fayyaz Shah and Mian Riaz. This convivial gathering provided an ideal environment for networking, fortifying business relationships, and celebrating the enduring friendly relations between Pakistan and Oman.
The FPCCI and OCCI's collaborative initiative to organize the Single Country exhibition is expected to create new avenues for trade and investment, marking a promising chapter in the economic partnership between the two countries.
